Trauma-Informed Spiritual Care is an evidence-informed educational program that equips healthcare professionals, chaplains, clergy, advocates, and helping professionals to provide compassionate, trauma-informed spiritual care to individuals impacted by trauma.
Traumatic experiences often disrupt a person’s spiritual orienting system—the beliefs, values, relationships, and sources of meaning that help them understand themselves, others, and the world. Trauma can profoundly influence questions of identity, trust, safety, hope, purpose, and one’s relationship with the sacred.
This program explores the intersection of trauma and spirituality while providing practical, evidence-informed approaches to offering spiritual care that promotes safety, dignity, resilience, and healing.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how trauma shapes spiritual beliefs and experiences, learn to recognize common spiritual responses to trauma, and develop skills for providing ethically grounded, culturally humble, person-centered spiritual care that honors each individual’s unique story and values.
Learning Objectives

Helping the Healers is an evidence-informed leadership training designed to equip supervisors, managers, ministry leaders, and organizational decision-makers to recognize, prevent, and respond to the impact of secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout within their teams.
Organizations that serve individuals impacted by trauma depend on healthy, resilient caregivers. Yet even the most dedicated professionals can experience the cumulative effects of repeated exposure to suffering, crisis, and loss. Leaders play a critical role in fostering environments where staff feel supported, valued, and equipped to sustain their work over time.
This interactive program explores the organizational impact of secondary traumatic stress and provides practical, research-informed strategies for building resilient teams. Participants will learn how to recognize early warning signs, cultivate psychologically safe workplaces, implement supportive leadership practices, and strengthen organizational cultures that promote well-being, retention, and sustainable, trauma-informed care.
Rather than placing the responsibility for resilience solely on individual caregivers, Helping the Healers emphasizes the shared responsibility of leadership in creating systems and cultures that protect, support, and empower those who care for others.

Resilient Self Care - is an evidence-informed program designed to equip healthcare professionals, first responders, chaplains, ministry leaders, advocates, and other helping professionals with practical strategies to sustain well-being while serving individuals impacted by trauma.
Those who walk alongside survivors of violence, abuse, exploitation, loss, and crisis are at increased risk for secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout. This interactive training explores the impact of trauma exposure on caregivers and provides research-supported self-care practices that promote resilience, emotional well-being, and long-term sustainability.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the physiological, emotional, spiritual, and relational effects of caring for others while learning practical tools to strengthen resilience, establish healthy boundaries, recognize early warning signs of stress, and cultivate habits that support both personal well-being and professional longevity.
Rather than viewing self-care as an occasional luxury, this program reframes it as an ethical and essential component of providing compassionate, trauma-informed care.
